I am amazed that Houston did not make it onto the list.
I think that this problem (very little observable biking or walking) has less to do with infrastructure and more to do with culture.
People are forgetting what healthy means. They are getting out of touch with their bodies, with nature, with each other, and we just fucking plug into an experiential media universe that someone else has created for us, for profit of course.
It's all going to crash and burn. Peak Oil is coming with a scythe. It's going to be most traumatic when they can no longer fill up their ride (no gas or can't afford it).
