I've been car free for about 6 weeks and I love it! I commute about 150 miles each week on my bike, and ride the bus when my legs are sore :) I commute to UCSD bi-weekly from downtown and Kearny Mesa 3 times per week for work. Congrats to all out there who are living the carless lifestyle!
San Diego is a great place to embrace the freedom of living without a car and enjoy the awesome climate via bike or walking to the bus. I hope in the near future the city will support programs that make it even easier to live car-free, such as having rentable bikes near major landmarks or high traffic areas, renting out grocery shopping pulleys and most importantly, improving the public transportation system.
