Main roads in Golden Gate Park will be closed to traffic on Saturdays for six months in a trial program approved today by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.
The program, which affects 1.5 miles of roadway, will run from May 27 to Nov. 25 and mimics the 39-year-old Sunday closure of John F. Kennedy Drive between Kezar and Transverse drives that is favored by bicyclists, runners and other park-goers.
